i bought a kenmore dehumidifier about 3 years ago and you'd think they designed it to make noise.
after a few weeks of dehumidifier use, now the water bucket needs to be emptied only once every 2 or 3 days.
and buying it from amazon was $30 less than lowes and it was delivered within a week.
i unpacked it, plugged it in, set it on low fan and within 3 hours the large bucket was almost half full of humidity from my basement.
for the people who claim that it only runs in continuous mode, read the instruction booklet- it's up to the operator to change the settings after the suggested 3 days of running in this mode.
so having a dehumidifier running 24/7/365 is a good idea for investing kilowatts.
i've had this unit about 3 weeks and it is working well.
in the first 24 hours, i emptied the bucket 3 times - it really took a lot of water out of the air!
this will be welcomed in the winter, but in the summer it raises the temp in my basement 2-3 degrees when running for long periods.

the 65 pint is in a very damp basement that measures about 25 x 30, which it covers significantly well--during the summer, i have to empty it every 12 hours.
i bought this unit 3 years ago for my finished basement.
after running approximately 3 months it became noticeably louder.
