to me, the more i have to empty the pan, the more i am reassured the product actually works.however, it would be nice if the manufacturer would include a cut-to-desired-length drain hose.
overall - excellent product for basements - just don't forget to empty the water tank.
would have preferred a included short hose...instead of dragging full outdoor hose into basement for continuous drainage pros:
i use it my basement garge to take away the dampness that affects my cars.i really like the drain tube that comes with the unit, that way i don't have to check the drain pan.
product connected easy to hose to allow draining into sump pump.
an issue not related to the product: we had a very long hose connected to it to drain it out and it worked great.
i've only just installed this dehumidifier but wanted to correct a previous review in one small way: once you punch out the plastic disk to insert a hose for external drainage, you needn't drain it
despite our humid basement (which on other brands had a constant trickle down the drain), this machine has produced not one drop of liquid in the pail (we took off the hose to see if it did anything;
cons: conversion to a self-draining unit is not straight forward.
cons: no lower wattage settings running unit, drainpan awkward if full (avoidable), wheels ineffective on carpet
we are using the drain hose and after looking at the directions and looking at the materials we figured out how to connect it.
hose drain connect has a cap that can be replaced.
weaknesses: will have small amount of water in bucket even when connected to a drain hose
pros: good looking and easily portable; continuous drain hole can be recapped; high moisture removal capacity for the price.
3) the drip bucket is very easy to remove and drain.
this product drains water like you would not believe.
i have a damp basement, and before i attached the drain hose, i had to empty the tank 3-4 times a day.
took only 2 minutes to set up drain hose out of the box and works quietly and efficiently.
product took 2 minutes to set up drain hose and works quietly and efficiently.
i have hooked the hose up to a floor drain so it continuously drains without having to empty the bucket.
using in the basement with continuous drain.
like the hose put right into drain.
the hose that came with the unit to drain the tank was very flimsy and leaked at the connection.
the item appeared to be previously used and the drainage hose wasn't included in the box.
i have mine gravity drained to a basement sump pump.
the one thing i did not like was that the setup for continuous draining is at the top of the water container.
i am assuming that the humidistat sensor is too close to the water container and i cannot use a drain option in my home which would keep the water always running away.
the outlet to a drain is about a foot off the floor, unlike other units that drain from the bottom of the bucket, very close to the floor.
the catch basin has a drainage hose in the event your basement/cellar has a central drain, or a swivel handle on the inside for easy removal and dumping.
box says 3' water hose, but hose length less than 2' out of back of unit - too short to reach my drain.
