We had a problem with dampness in the basement of our hundred year old house. My husband asked me to get a couple of dehumidifiers to take care of that problem. After reading some product reviews I bought 2 of the Frigidaire 50 pint dehumidifiers. They have worked beautifully since I bought them a couple of months ago. from Amazon.com I bought this product through Amazon, sold by TheFactoryDepot. I unpacked it and used it for a few days and realized it was defective. from Amazon.com The Frigidare 50-pint dehumidifier is the best I've ever had. It arrived in 2 days and was a breeze to hook up. from Amazon.com I bought this unit to replace a similar Sears unit that died after 4 years, which seems to be the life expectancy of units such as this. The Frigidaire seems to work well now; I don't check it very often since it drains directly into a condensate pump. from Amazon.com My unit is the FDL50S1. Other than cosmetic changes, the specs appear to be identical to this one. My old humidifier wouldnt have much water in it after being run all day, this takes out alot of water from the air very quickly! I usually leave it set to 50% or 55% humidity.
