I have this exact Comfort-Aire Dehumidifier and it works great in our damp basement. Without it the basement is not tolerable...humidity levels reach 70%. from Amazon.com I purchased the Kenmore versions of the 70 and 50 pint dehumidifiers (look identical to the Comfort-Aire). They didn't last two years. from Amazon.com it kept max remarkably cool and was quiet enough to talk near it without shouting. from Acehardware.com we previously had an old gibson 40 pint dehumidifier in the basement. from Amazon.com it is quiet and i especially like the digital read out of ambient humidity. from Amazon.com it is quiet compared to the three year my previous old other mfg unit with pump. from Amazon.com it was noisy and just could not keep up with the humidity level. from Amazon.com works well - a bit noisy on high fan setting - useful humidty % display- recommended from Amazon.com bucket size (22 pint). from Shopping.com cons: a bit noisy. from Shopping.com
