And this product is so much cheaper than expensive fryers that must be a pain in the butt to clean! I love mine! It's not that big of a deal but on our previous fryer you could set the timer to however long you needed to fry your food, and it would ding and shut off when the time was up. Kudos to Presto for designing this fryer to accommodate the average home cook's wishes. I love this fryer because it is a 'closed' unit. from Amazon.com I bought the Presto Cool Daddy on sale at a very low cost and thought I would be getting what I paid out of it. Boy was I wrong! from Amazon.com It comes with a removable nonstick oil pot so you can store the oil without draining (and makes clean-up a breeze), the basket handle allows lowering and raising of food into oil (WHILE the top lid is closed) - so once you get your cooking times perfected, the cooker never needs opening except for loading/unloading (plus it is safer that way with no oil splatter/mess/odor)! It also has a changeable carbon filter, is dishwasher safe and has a nice big window so you can check on your food without opening the whole thing (and messing up the temperature)! To me it is definately worth the [$] more than the "usual" presto fry daddys out there! (A friend of mine also uses it to melt soy wax for making candles!) from Amazon.com
