i bought this for my wife, and we've only used it once so far, but i can definitely say that it (along with a few key ingredients) made one of the best pot roasts i've ever had.
you can take the aluminum version and cook right on the stove to brown your roasts, i was worried that the nonstick wouldn't brown well, but it does fine.
