after using a traditional slow cooker for 15 years, it would only cook on high.
most slow cookers seem to cook at too high of a temperature, but not mine, it's just right.
i tested the unit and it heated to the proper temperatures for low and high.
we highly recomend !!

we live at a higher altitude and it was taking 30-40 minutes to steam veggies -- now it takes less than 10 total.
it was 'ok' but not great, you had high for 4 or 6 hours and low for 8 or 10.

low must be the new high at rival, because i noticed the food was already overcooked and encrusted on the sides in 4 hours despite being a 6-8 hour recipe.

i can't imagine what could be cooked on high because after two hours whatever is on low is burned on the bottom even when i turn the bowl frequently.
the high heat is really a high heat, not always so in crock pots.
once i walked in the door, i turned it on high for the browning to take effect.
if your receipe calls for high for 8 hours, you might need to turn it down after a few hours.
it works as wonderfully as the old one did, and it has a keep warm setting as well as low and high settings - that's a plus.
pros: dishwasher-safe removable insert and glass lid; even-heating; 3 settings: low, high, keep warm cons: none encountered the bottom line: everyone should have one of these!

i cooked them all, using the high setting, and in
it seems like now low turn it up to about 75 degrees, and high brings it up to 150.
the low setting is only slightly lower than the high setting.
