I love this little slow cooker and it is my favorite one. I have a six quart (which is way too big for a family of two), a 2 1/5 quart (Which I love for everyday meals) and my favorite, this one. from Amazon.com This is a lovely little crockpot whose small size makes it uniquely useful for a number of purposes. I've owned larger crockpots for a couple decades (currently a 6 quart Rival Smartcooker is my mainstay for preparing family-size meals), but the larger pots take up a significant amount of counter space & aren't at all useful for heating or re-heating small quantities. This little crockpot, however, is perfect for heating or re-heating 2-4 servings of soup or stew. from Amazon.com I bought the Rival 1.5 qt. Crockpot thinking it would be just right for my bachelor household. from Amazon.com A general warning to anyone who is not familiar with crock pot cooking: the days of putting a dish in the crock pot before you leave for work and it being perfectly done when you return home are over, in my opinion. The new slow cookers/crock pots cook *much* faster and hotter than those our mothers owned in the 70's. My large, 5-quart Rival crock pot actually boils when I turn it on high! Once I did, I was pleasantly surprised at how well this slow cooker cooks lentils.
