I bought mine in stainless steel at a dept. store and wanted to review it because I LIVE FOR REVIEWS! from Amazon.com Did some research and decided on this slow cooker. I decided to do an experiment. I took my old 3.5qt Rival(about 10yrs old), the new 6qt Rival programmable and the Hamilton Stay or Go and put water in each about an inch from the top. Set them each on low and took temperature readings after 6 hours. from Amazon.com Unless you are going to use it for "transport" get another H. B. cooker. The latches and the handles are hard to get around when the food is hot and you are lifting the stoneware out (I love the stoneware,seems very well made). from Amazon.com I have this in the stainless steel color.
