My 5-qt crockpot quit after many years of service. I saved the crock and bought a new rival 5-qt one. the crocks are interchangeable which is a handy feature. from Amazon.com This crock pot is very good. I had the smart crock pot last and it just overcooked everything I made. from Amazon.com I have to admit I bought this because of the "fun flower print" to match my older casseroles. I love the round 5-quart design (over a larger oval design) since it takes up slightly less room on my counter. The size is perfect for a family of four. from Amazon.com i put some tnt in mine and it bluw up and thats how i coock up my pot roast.so if you want a good pot roast add a lot of tnt and it will do the rest but find a new place to live frist before you blow from Amazon.com from pot roast to chilli, we use it for most serious cooking. from Amazon.com high liquid recipes like broth based soups are ok, but thicker food like stew, chili, etc. from Amazon.com I had one of the newer Smartpot crock pots and found that it got way too hot. The Bottom Line: I recommend this basic crockpot to you. It is a nice way to learn slowcooking.
