the mattress pad is very thin, but every bassinet i have ever seen has the same thin mattress, i just wrap a quilt around it to make it a little cushier.
needed a small bed for baby and this bassinet was easy, fast, and affordable to get.
it is perfect not too big and really cute.
my son was born early and it's just the right size.
we love the size and the stability.
you can use it on a crib once you no longer use the bassinet.
the mattress is a little thin so we put a comfy blanket on it and it worked well.
it is narrow enough to fit in our small bedroom between the bed and the wall.
remember, babies are small, and she has no issues with the mattress.
the "pack n play" from graco had the similar features, was larger and could function as a play pen, portable crib and changing table for the same money.
i actually put it together twice because it was wider than the door to the nursery.
the only downside is the assembly- took a little longer than expected.
the leg of the crib also split, so we could no longer use it.
this is a great bassinet - nice size for a small apartment.
let me just say she is super tiny, at a year old she is just now peaking at 16lbs.
i used a fabric steamer for the large fabric piece which turned out nice.
the main bolts (hanging the bassinet basket to the frame) back themselves out through the rocking motion - on ours, the bolt came fully unscrewed and a small bump could have sent the basket crashing
she hated the bassinet, we ultimately determined because the mattress that comes with it is so super thin, the bedding feels hard.
