also, with the front railing being solid at the top and lowered, when you have the matress at it's highest level you're not able to tie the bumpers on.

i had the matress on the lowest level already and the instructions said to move the mattress to the highest level to make it a toddler bed.

the only drawback is that it's crazy hard tying a bumper pad onto it when you have it at the highest level for an infant - i am not looking forward to having to deal with that when changing the sheets

the only problem thus far is that a standard crib bumper doesn't fit with the mattress at the highest height.

the highest mattress setting isn't all that high, so if you are short, you'll definitely either need a stepping stool or get crib with drop-down sides!
