it seems like a standard pack n play is low to the ground, too, but it's a few inches higher than this one, and those few inches can really feel like a difference after a few nights and a few naps.
for that purpose i would just buy a cheap pack and play and feel like a goober for spending money on two travel cribs.

we were so happy that we could find a sturdy good-looking crib that is pretty much the same size as a porta crib without that porta folding look and feel.
i feel it is much more useful than a bassinet and is made much better than a lot of the plastic bassinets.
the co-sleeper has a siderail that can be lowered so it almost feels like your baby is in bed with you but it's much safer.

(click anywhere inside this popup to close it) i didn't feel like removing all the bedding just to take a picture of the crib.
the only thing i don't like is that the mattress rests on a mdf platform and it has no 'give' (which makes the mattress feel a lot harder)--i would have preferred something more like our other crib,
it looks great, and feels very sturdy.
the screw set up is a bit frustrating, i will actually at somepoint probably glue the screw parts together because they feel loose, but it's been together for over a month with no problems.
