the only down side that i have found so far is i don't make coffee every day and since it keeps the water hot all the time, it evaporates.

i was concerend about having the heat unit on all the time that keeps the reserve hot, but we have brewed coffee almost every day for the 4 months we've had it.

because it keeps the water in the tank, if you don't use it every day, the next time you make a pot, it will be less than you want because water evaporated from the constant heating.
