it should not discourage you, it truly is minor, it only makes noise and vibrates when the pump turns on to fill the inner reservoir for heating and that only lasts 3 to 6 seconds.

i am fairly used to it, as i also own a pasquini livia 90 espresso machine, and when the pump on that machine turns on to fill the boiler, it makes a similar noise and vibration.
