packing of both the coffee maker and combo watch were definitly not the best!other thoughts: very easy setup and operation.
be careful to watch the first few times to make sure the receptacle on the top of the lid lines up with the coffee flowing from the maker.
so watch quality, other than that, it does its job and even looks good on the counter!
besides, there is something satisfying about watching the coffee bloom and the crema develope.

you pour the water into the machine is small and the "pot" does not have a water gauge so you have to watch the gauge on the outside of the machine as you pour water and stop at the desired level.

you gotta watch the brew, so you can manually shut it off when the drip starts to look weak.
just watch the color of the drip.
well thats about the only thing i loved about it, after reading the directions and even went online to watch the video to make sure i followed the steps correctly i was all set to go, i plugged in
do several runs without coffee as a test and watch for a few moments to make sure the water or coffee is going into the pot.
i think it is rather entertaining, because after the first time i told her to make sure the carafe was empty before making another pot (while laughingly watching her clean it up), she did it again.
some have complained on screwing the top on the carafe but it goes on fine if you watch the threads, taking a hard twist for the final 1/8 turn to line up the pour spout.
only thing to watch, and is not a big deal at all, is to make sure carafe is soundly placed under the basket while brewing, so the coffee properly drops down into the carafe, thus avoiding a backup /
the beeps are just slightly louder than a digital watch.
