i will say the instructions make it clear you should do a warm water run first to heat the carafe - maybe that makes the coffee stay hot much longer, but i don't have time for that in the morning.

i have found that if i follow all the instructions, check that the pot is in correctly, and the water transfer stuff is lined up, the dtc-975n has surpassed all my "coffee maker" expectations.
