i would recommend griding your own either at home with a grinder or at the store at a grinding station.
my espresso settings - coffee amount at 10 o'clock, strength at 3 o'clock, single cup dispense.
all minor complaints compared to the end result of outstanding coffee in the house, one cup at a time (no throwing out half a pot of coffee), and the ability to make a latte on the weekends.
i set the water hardness when we first got it and after about 6 months of use, i finally had to descale it (we make 1-2 cups per day).
since getting this machine, he can't stand spending money at such places when he can make it just as good, if not better, at home!
it reminds me of going out to a coffe house in germany.
overall though, if you have the money, then go for it - this machine is fantastic, looks great, and is the quietest fully automatic by far - this doesn't wake up the whole house when you make a coffee
first - there is no doubt that this is a very expensive purchase, but if you have two starbucks drinkers in the house it's worth consideration.
this is in fact a very good coffee machine, so far has met all expectations in the household and we have yet to find something to complain about.
in our house 2 adults spending say $10 a day on coffee is $3,650 a year.
after spending $5-$10 a day at starbucks, my wife and i got the jura-capresso for the convenience of a fully automatic machine and having fresh latte's at home in the morning.
in our house we're just two people and find that we have to refill the tank every day after just 2 - 3 cups of xxl-size coffee.
great way to have just one cup of coffee.
the three cup version of this coffeemaker wlll make enough coffee for one person.
now i use it at home and camping.
having always used a drip-machine at home, i wanted to give this a try.
unfortunately we are another household with a cracked plastic plunger after about 4 months of daily careful use...
it also is an extremely messy event when you forget to switch, manually, back to 2 cups from one.
nice if your making you and your wife a cup of coffee ,you can make eggnog ,and a cup of blueberry the same time , one drew back no automatic on/off .
this one does just great.
the only problem is the little handle on the filters broke after one week.
about the only down side is when i forget to switch it back to one, but other than that i have had no problems.
