Also, the steel frame helps prevent glass breakage. Although most French press makers are made of break resistant glass, several reviews I read on many different sites indicated glass breakage was a common issue. The flavor lock system appears to be available only with the BonJour brand. The actual frothing screen on the bodum torn itself apart - after three years though (so a good run) but once the plastic cracked, it was game over.
