Bought this to replace another Krups coffeemaker which'd been dependable for about 4 years. First though, I purchased a national department store brand model because it was cheaper. from Zappos.com Good quality product. Coffee stays hot . Would use other Krups products. from Cooking.com Overall, the Krups coffee maker brews good coffee. I tried the Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker but it was too tall to fit under my cabinets. from Amazon.com This is such a cool looking machine and they left out two important features. I guess the CEO needed the money. KRUPS is living off of their name. I value the consumer reviews posted here and usually heed them, but I loved the look of this coffeemaker so much and could find no other brands to match the styling and features of the KM1000 that I decided to risk it and order.
