After a couple years it began to leak, so bought one on Amazon. Another year or so and it too began to occasionally stop brewing mid-stream. Contacted Cuisinart and received a replacement and a free return slip for UPS. They stand behind their products. from Amazon.com I was in love with this machine when we bought it. After about 6 months, the grinding function quit working. This is not the first time I have been dissappointed with a cuisinart appliance. I am off them for good. from Amazon.com Well unfortunately, this product is deceiving. It makes very good coffee, when it actually works. My parents coffee pot broke within a few months of purchase, they sent it back to cuisinart, received a replacement and then that one broke within a few more months. So in fact, I have thrown this coffee maker out and starting over with something other than a Cuisinart. It seems there is no such thing as a quality coffee pot--especially judging by the reviews I read. The Cuisinart was my third coffee pot in 3 years. Then I got the bright idea of buying a coffeemaker that ground up the beans as part of the whole brewing mechanism. I got this Cuisinart. We stuck with it for almost a year and should have thrown it out the first week. from Amazon.com So it's really a ten-cup coffee maker, because you'll never get it to produce twelve cups in a single batch. They're great cups of coffee--IF you ground your own beans, IF you didn't rely on the timer, IF you didn't expect twelve cups, and IF it miraculously didn't turn into a coffee geyser. I had another one about like it, maybe a DGB-500 and the bean cup would stick like I've read about in some of the reviews.
