Try as I may, the minute you start pouring, the bulk of the liquid starts running down the side of the pot as opposed to in the cup. Second, and most importantly, the coffee from this device tastes like absolute garbage. The same coffee I use at home in my Cuisinart that tastes wonderful is somehow transformed into bitter-tasting black sludge in the B&D model. Granted, I don't expect miracles here, but it should at least be drinkable.
I thought the longer I had it, the easier it would be to pour coffee into a cup or water into the maker without making a mess on the counter top. I was wrong. I am going to return this one and get one of the 'real' Smartbrew Black & Decker coffee makers. This one is not a 'Smartbrew' model.
We bought this coffee maker 2 days ago and it's now in the trash can! Shame on your Black and Decker! The water resevior makes it IMPOSSIBLE to fill without spilling half of it all over the counter with the ground basket guide in the way.
Purchased to replace a Mr. Coffee that finally gave up the ghost.
