I like it. It makes the right amount and, once I got the steeping time and amount of coffee figured out, it makes a great cup of coffee. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and is attractive as well.
I purchased this 17-ounce Bodum New Kenya French press specifically to prepare my yerba mate tea. It is absolutely wonderful!
Great little press pot. Especially on those mornings when you don't want or need a full pot. Does 1-2 cups/mugs quickly.
This is the third coffee press I bought within the last year, and I definitely like this one the best. Unlike the others, it is attractive to display on my shelf when I am not using it, and it is easy to pour the coffee without spillage. I would imagine that it would hold water for two cups of coffee, though I only used it to make one cup at a time. I would recommend the Bodum New Kenya 17-ounce coffee press.
I was surprised to find out that coffee made in this is smoother than coffee made in a regular coffeemaker. The grounds should be like sand, not powder. You put them in the carafe, pour hot, almost (but not quite) boiling water over them, put on the lid and wait 4 minutes. If you made the grounds a little too coarse, you might need to push in the plunger and pull it back up to stir them up a little.
1- Size: Perfect for one large cup. I had trouble with a 12 oz press because it was too small to serve a decent-sized cup, and the 32 oz is overkill for just one person.
i love this little thing! i agree with the other reviews that i read about the press making less coffee at one time than advertised so keep that in mind. i fill my 4 cup press 3/4 of the way full and it makes enough coffee to fit perfectly in my travel mug. if you're buying a french press for two get a bigger one!
the essential oils are intact and it has a silky, velvety texture. the subtleties of the flavor are evident and all those tasting notes the guy at the coffee shop always describes...well they really do exist. As for this product itself, I have been using Bodum since I lived in Paris in 1998. the quality and history speak for themselves.
I replaced a 12oz Bodum w/this size. The coffee doesn't splash out, the screen holds all the grounds.
I have had several presses, but this is the one I use daily. I had a "one cup" press, but it made enough coffee for a very small cup. This press makes enough coffee for a large coffee mug, which is exactly how much I want.
