This Hamilton Beach Percolator is the way to go. The coffee is wonderful. from Amazon.com Ours lasted longer than many other reviewers - about a year of daily use. The Hamilton Beach Electric Percolator made excellent coffee for about 40 times then it stopped brewing to completion. I have the smallest Farberware urn for larger (12-22 cup) needs. So few people seem to want percolators now that I found this Hamilton Beach but none of its competitors, locally. I am so dissapointed with it not working anymore because the coffee tastes so much better with this unit than with the other type coffee makers. I can say, though, that Hamilton Beach has a great customer service department and they have handled my complaint promptly. The first two were replaced under warranty, but obviously the long term prospects for this coffee pot don't look good. from Amazon.com Fortunately, my percolator is plugged into a GFI outlet, which now shuts off automatically almost everytime I lift the percolator to pour my first cup of coffee. Apparently, the water is dripping from where the handle connects and then down into the plug. At any rate, I have contacted Hamilton Beach in the hopes that they can invesstigate the concerns many of us have had. Perhaps they need to take a closer look at the product. from Amazon.com The details of this item for those who want to know is "GE" -- huge symbol on the side of the pot that you will not find anywhere in its description. Please note also that this pot is heavy and whether the weight in its description includes the 12-cups of water and coffee grounds, is anybody's guess. I also find the pot very, very noisy when perking and many may find it overly annoying. from Amazon.com
