There are many reasons to get this Bodum coffee press. 1. from Amazon.com No coffee maker is graduated in measuring cups. While some may have servings larger than 4 oz., I am not acquainted with any that are 8 oz. I have had a Bodum press for years and recommend this brand and method to anyone who likes rich, robust coffee. from Target.com I bought this for a birthday gift and was so disappointed when my friend opened the box. This description says this is an 8-cup Press BUT it actually holds only 4 cups and if you follow the directions included in the pot and leave about an inch of space from the water to the rim, it will only hold 3 cups. I've given the gift and neither the recipient nor I want to go to the trouble or expense of returning it. from Target.com I bought the bodum young coffee press for my Dad and he loves it! It makes just about enough coffee for the two of us and the carafe holder keeps it warm for a sufficient amount of time. from Amazon.com I needed a new Bodum press after my last one broke, and thought this would be good one since it seemed to be more durable than the others, with plastic encasing around the glass insert. Ironically, I ended up breaking the glass insert because it always gets stuck within the plastic encasing, and then the rubber edges start to roll down, etc. from Amazon.com I am very disappointed in this product, not what I would expect from a Bodum. This product consists of a glass beaker piece, the plunger, and a rubbery holder with the handle (the brown/red part). from Amazon.com First, a minor complaint: Have owned 2 other Bodum coffee presses and love them, but I think they have gotten a little cheap with the plunger screen filter and the metal retaining disk. I don't know if this is uniform across the whole line of Bodum presses, but the retaining disk is now made with slightly cheaper and *thinner* metal. from Amazon.com
