the automatic shutoff valve, a spring loaded plunger affair allowing you to remove the carafe for a single cup before brewing has finished, is far better engineered than any other i have seen. from Buydig.com first, you might think the sound is rather soft, but the nature of peizo buzzers is that the sound travels far. from Buydig.com we've had a starbucks barista aroma grande for a few years and it makes great coffee but is too tall to fit on my counter tops at our new home. from Amazon.com i had previously gone through 2 machines as well as a french press (dont get me wrong, it makes a great cup of coffee, i just dont have the time!) so when i changed jobs and i no longer had that from Amazon.com it's nice to be able to leave the carafe sealed and pour a single cup. from Amazon.com the best tasting coffee for me was made with a melita cone and pouring the hot water by hand over the grounds or by using a french press. from Amazon.com i hold my one cup (13oz) starbucks barista solo as a standard, and i can say this one meets my expectations as to flavor. from Amazon.com i have been using a french press for the last 5 years, and was weary about buying an auto-drip brewer, but i was not disappointed. from Amazon.com (the same can't be said of my charming but sensitive french press.) the water filter, which removes chlorine and odors from your water, probably helps. from Amazon.com my husband bought this coffee pot after i suffered some burns using a french press coffee pot early in the morning before i was fully awake. from Amazon.com
