burr grinders i have used in the past were glass, and while i didn't think plastic would be a big deal, extremely fine grinds tend to 'stick' due to static electricity.

yes there is a very small amount of grinds that collect from static but if you want glass and no static, you should have purchased a more expensive unit.

unless you have a glass grind catcher, which would mean owning a completely different grinder, then static will always exist.
