the burrs are very heavy weight, and the motor is strong so it can grind with lots of power at low rpm's, which reduces heat, noise and static, which translates to flavor!

detach the bowl from the motor assembly with a short, counter clockwise turn of the wrist, and do the same with the lid (extremely easy, i assure you) -- then dump the coffee from the grinding bowl
