even if it only lasts for 2 years, you could afford to buy 30 of them for what a small professional grade burr grinder would cost and it's actually easier to live with than the pro grade grinder
thus far, i have ground chiles, seeds and even fresh lemongrass.

i have been using a solis maestro plus with a starbucks barista espresso machine and a technivorm moccamaster cd drip maker in my office with great success for over a year.
spice grinding: it works well enough for less oily seeds like cumin, but is a disaster for grinding dried ginger (much too hard) or cloves (too oily and clog up the grinding chamber).
the first i purchased for grinding seeds, ( flax, caraway, etc.), because my small whole grain mill was too much for small seeds and i really didn't want to use the same machine on my spices as i do
if you grind flavored coffees (or, in my case, fresh seed spices) and need to clean it, you might be a little frustrated.
the 18 grind-choice selections makes it easy to customize to your own taste but you won't get a professional result.
i bought this grinder for grinding flax seed , it did the grinding just ok but after few minutes it need resting, it is frustrating since the resting time seem to get longer and longer, kind of
still-- unless you want to spring for a professional quality/adjustable blade grinder-- this one is an excellent choice.
i have only used it to grind noncoffee items, primarily flax seeds and rose hips.
i bought a second bowl so that i could grind spices in the same machine, and i think the coffee grinder works better on spices and seeds (such as flax) than it does on coffee.
it is persnickity with other seeds besides coffee, such as flax and sesame.
anyone giving this one 5 stars either is not a coffee connoisseur or must have used a very old grinder in the past.
it does its spices and coffee seeds very well.but only thing is the container is not detachable so diffcult in taking out the ground thing from it.
i'm not a coffee drinker, so i actually use this for grinding whole spices and flax seeds.it works very well on spices and flax seeds, so i sould think it would be great for coffee also~
i grind everything from coffee beans to flax seed and it does a wonderful job on each.
just read many of the reviews and i am puzzled.....i have had no problems with messiness, and i grind all sorts of stuff in it...coffee beans, flaxseed, spices.
for a coffee connoisseur i only give it three stars.
