Nevertheless, I continued to grind coffee for about 16 months until it recently died when I tried to clean it. The bean grind path is next to impossible to clean and I broke a solder connection taking the unit apart. I have the plastic housing grinder and static electricity is also a problem. If you are very careful with the bean bowl and can figure out how to keep the bean grind path clean, then you can get along with this grinder. from Amazon.com I read a LOT of reviews on burr grinders before I purchased this unit.
