it does its spices and coffee seeds very well.but only thing is the container is not detachable so diffcult in taking out the ground thing from it. from Cooking.com i'm not a coffee drinker, so i actually use this for grinding whole spices and flax seeds.it works very well on spices and flax seeds, so i sould think it would be great for coffee also~ from Cooking.com i am going to purchase another one for my spices since we all know you do not mix coffee with other foods it will take on the flavor. from Target.com it is easy to use and the grinder can be washed and used to grind spices, nuts, and blend small quantity of fruits etc for the toddlers.. from Cooking.com i usually use a burr grinder for coffee, but use this for making coffee or espresso dry rubs/marinades. from Cooking.com i grind everything from coffee beans to flax seed and it does a wonderful job on each. from Amazon.com just read many of the reviews and i am puzzled.....i have had no problems with messiness, and i grind all sorts of stuff in it...coffee beans, flaxseed, spices. from Amazon.com for a coffee connoisseur i only give it three stars. from Amazon.com grind until it looks right - about 12-14 seconds for the typical drip coffee maker depending your personal taste. from Amazon.com which brings me to my next complaint, this grinder is so loud! from Target.com
