great product and price, just couldn't use like we had intended!also am/fm radio with battery back up is great feature.
it is also a clock radio with am/fm.
i personally know it was programmed correctly as i am employed by the nws and know how to program a weather radio.
i am not annoyed at it when it goes off, in fact it's in my kitchen and now i can get the daily weather every morning and listen to the radio when i cook.
at the least have (1)programing to your "specific county" and (2) "specific threat" other wise the cheap thing will wake you up at 2:00 am for a rain shower and you will proceed to destroy it.
i have been using the sangean america wr-2 walnut digital am/fm table top radio going on 3 wks now it is a "great" little radio.
it does not create any ambient noise so it is perfect for night time listing.
i desired an am/fm radio with a small footprint and a good reception and sound quality.
here are three things i really liked about this product: 1) the am/fm reception is outstanding.
radio has 5 presets for am and 5 presets for fm.
this product was beyond my expectations; it is very good quality and amazingly clear; no static or distortion.
i am extremely happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.
i am most impressed with the price and quality of this sony product.
the mp3 cord even works for hooking up to a laptop to listen to internet radio although i am planning to get an extender cord to make that a bit easier.
i haven't used the built-in kitchen timer yet, but i am sure i will get lots of use out of it.
i am very pleased with this product.
i finally found this one, put it to the test and am impressed with the results.
the only downside to this item is the radio as the music sounds terrible but what am/fm clock radio this size doesn't?
there are 2 alarms that can be programmed for different times, and each has the option of being a rather pleasent bleepy noise or the fm/am radio.
i am very happy with this alarm clock.
it has am/fm radio, a clock with alarm-that adjusts for dst.
i replaced our old sony am/fm clock radio (it finally broke after 41 years)i am pleased with our new one so far.
i use it at work to mostly listen to am radio and once in a while fm.
i really like the clock and i am glad that i purchased it.
all in all, the ability of this unit to get tv and am/fm make it a useful radio.
this product is now my constant companion when i am in the kitchen working or in the living room relaxing or just anytime i need some music in the house.
i just recieved this amazing product this afternoon and am completely blown away by its excellent design and simplicity of use.
over all, i am very satisfied with the product.
i highly recommend this radio & i did do my research before i bought it & i sure am pleased with my choice & it was 119.00 far lower than most & it works beautifully.
sound is quite decent too- almost good, especially compared to what you typically get for an am/fm radio alarm clock.
it is very rare that i am this pleased with any product that i purchase!
you can see at a glance if the alarm is on or off, whether it is am or pm.
it was for a gift..so i can't rate the performace, but i am sure it is fine.
i am really happy with the alarm clock.
sensitivity on both am and fm bands is great -- about as good as any radio i own.
to turn off the radio from fm, i need to pass am selection first.
as for the negatives in the 1/14/04 letter, i can assure you that the plug length and the fact one must dial past am to reach the fm band in no way compromises the quality of the sangean wr-1.i also
great reception, if you live in a metal frame building it's better with an external antenna on am
i am not one to write reviews about many things i buy online, but i had to say something about this great radio.
the radio stations come in perfectly and i live in betweentuscon and phoenix so i am always having problems getting in channels clearly in my car but this unit picks them up perfect!
dual alarm, battery backup, am-fm presets, cd, ipod/mp3 inputs...
when it comes to sony i always usually feel like i am paying for the name more than anything but all that comes with this clock is nice.
sound quality is better then most fm/am radio alarms i've used.
the radio stations come in perfectly and i live in between tuscon and phoenix so i am always having problems getting in channels clearly in my car but this unit picks them up perfect!
my only complaint is the reception i get on the radio -especially am.
setting the alarm was easy and the snooze feature works well (used it twice this am).
the only flaw we've found is there's no dial or digital display for the radio -- you have to either have infinite patience to guess which is your favorite as you move through am or fm frequencies.
got it for a good price and am happy so far!
overall i am happy with the clock.
overall i am happy with this clock radio, and would recommend it except for the potentially short life of the analog portion.
with respect to reading the digital time...the only time i want to read it is when i am in bed...if you are close enough to turn it off you should be able to read the time.
the am/fm pll synthesized radio is static free and has excellent sound.
when i first turned it on, i noticed that the screen could display am/pm, yet there was no way to switch from the default 24-hour time to 12-hour time.
when the alarm goes off the display changes color from blue to amber and the alarm or radio increases gradually in volume.
the only thing disappointing was the am/fm radio didn't seem very strong.
i am not using it for an alarm clock thus far, but the alarms work well.
i am elated with every aspect of this product.
i bought this clock fairly recently and am satisfied with it.
i didn't buy this for the alarms, either, but i must say that once the alarm goes off, it's so annoying that i can't refuse it any more than my puppy staring at me at 6:30 am.
i am an insomniac, and seriously this is the best bedroom clock i've ever owned.
i am one of those people that never leaves reviews for things but i am compelled to for this clock.
i am in love with my new clock.
overall it is worth your money, i am very satisfied.
i don't know how i ever lived without a projection clock (but i am pretty lazy).
i received the radio today, and i am delighted with it.
i also own the tivoli model one radio, which pulls in both am & fm stations very well.
i bought the radio to replace an ihome am/fm/ipod radio that was exceedlingly poor for fm reception in my home.
i am a retired musician/public school music teacher witha lot of high end audio and electronic equipment.
i already own two boston acoustic horizon solos, which i bought on amazon for about $85.
--it loses the 5 am presets when unplugged, but not the 10 fm presets!
it does almost everything you could want--am/fm, ipod, multiple alarms--and everything is easy to figure out how to operate.
for 10 years i have been looking for an am radio for my nightstand that will pick up a station in the next state that i enjoy listening to.
now that i have finally got the controls understood, i am very pleased with the rich sound.
the sound is excellent, no boom, just right,as is the am-fm reception; the remote is nice but not needed (so far).
i am totally sold on the display of this clock - you can clearly see that the alarm is set, and when it is set for.
i am very pleased with it's performance.
no longer to have to double check the swich if some dot is set for am/pmor alarm 1 or 2.
this clock displays the amount of time you've requested to snooze (press it again for more time), and then the alarm that will sound blinks until the alarm sounds.
sony icf-c630 fm/am clock radio with ac/dc operation sounds great and takes up very little space.....nice addition to our kitchen....
i am an auto technician at a dealership and this radio is perfect for the shop, it gets just loud enough to get me in trouble with the boss when i'm rockin out.
fm could be a little clearer as i have heard on others, but it has great am reception.
like many other models, the am radio is a little weak, but other than that, the sony icf-cd543rm will be a fine addition to your home.
the sound is great on either am or fm and i never have to work a dial to get it tuned in!
i've used the cd player and am fm radio.
am radio never works in that particular part of the room on electrical power.
this is absolutely an amazing clock.
first, they have tiny displays, which - for someone as nearsighted as i am - is a significant problem: i don't like having to make it a major production to find my glasses in the dark (or turn on the
this is very good for me as i don't like a lot of light next to the bed when i am trying to sleep.
i am going out to dinner tonight to celebrate!!!!
i am please and recommend this product.
i am very pleased with this purchase and have already suggested it to friends who are in the market.
i installed it myself within 20 minutes and was (and still am) very impressed.
3) am radio reception is weak
i can plug in my ipod, play cds on the changer, or listen to am/fm radio.
i am surprised that there are not more atomic clock radios on the market.
my husband and i had several requirements to replace our 12 year old panasonic alarm -- dual alarms, no cd or tape player, am/fm radio with pre-set buttons, etc.
the manual is fairly easy to understand, with the usual translation grammar amusements but if you follow the steps, it works.
my previous radio - which is actually a sw-am-fm-lw radio which was not cheap has worse fm performance than this radio.
we live in a very weak reception area, poor for public fm stations, worse for am stations.
