Best Clock Radios for City

i boxed mine up last thursday and sent it back to midland in kansas city.

i don't live in the boonies and am 7-10 minutes from the city proper, but it does not receive the weather advisory signals.

we bought this weather radio after a recent hailstorm in which none of the neighbors could hear the accompanying city sirens warning of a very close tornado.

the very 1st day that the movers were pulling out of our new house, the tornado sirens went off in nw oklahoma city.

the only problem with reception is when i use it in my enclosed new york city office far from windows.

it even receives nevada city npr station 89.5 fm.

searched best buy, radio shack, circuit city and no one could offer this type of radio for the price.

i read so many reviews on amazon, circuit city, etc.

at first i thought it was a bit much to pay for an alarm clock and then i found it on sale at circuit city on feb 18 2008 for about $75.00, so, i decided to give it a try.

my wife and i needed a dual alarm, so we went to circuit city.

living in the city, the warm glow of the light does not compete with lights from the window, though i do make it face away from bed.

it does automotically set the time, although it took a while to find signal here in a big city.

i was worried that the atomic feature would not function because i live so far away from a sizable city but it does!!
