the dual radio/buzzer alarm is a nice feature because if the radio does not wake you up the buzzer will.
this was the only clock radio we could find that appeared to feature an alarm mode of radio+buzzer.
great little am/fm radio with snooze, wake to music/buzzer, 9v battery back-up, and up to 60 min.
strengths: large display dual alarm (radio and buzzer) quality sony name brand weaknesses: cannot set both alarm a and b to radio learning how to operate clock is not simple summary: i owned
the dual stage alarm (radio/buzzer) can set to different times.
this clock allows us both to wake to radio (as opposed to some that let one wake to radio andthe other has to wake to buzzer or nature sounds).
alarms are easy to set, and there are 4 independent ones [2 under the regular setting, 2 under weekend], all selectable to radio, melody or buzzer.
the cons are minor, but they are there...first, when you set the alarm to buzzer, it emits a rather soft beeping sound, which a sound sleeper could probably sleep through.
wake up to radio, buzzer or melody.
each alarm can be to radio-buzzer-melody.
easy to use, clear wake-up buzzer, excellent radio reception.
giant display with dual alarms (buzzer and radio).
i like the options of having an alarm choice of either buzzer, radio or both at the same time.
it also has a sleep timer (radio stays on for preselected amount of time) and a nap timer (buzzer sounds after a preselected amount of time--handy for afternoon naps).
also, it does have two alarm settings, but alarm a is the radio alarm and alaram b is a buzzer alarm.
i am too sleep-deprived to awaken to the radio, so it is nice that the buzzer alarm does not sound harsh.
the buzzer is nice, not outrageously annoying, and i love how it slowly gets faster and faster.
buzzer is a bit low but i use the radio anyhow.so foor me still a great deal and price from amazon
the alarm has a buzzer or radio option.
the buzzer will start out beeping slowly, and accelerate in the frequency if you don't snooze it.
glad it has two alarms, buzzer or radio.
the bad things is that the buzzer is kind of loud, i can hear it from another room with the door closed, and it is bigger than any alarm clock i've had.
it's got a great buzzer that will gently wake you from a sound sleep, instead of sounding like something out of an 80s movie.
the display is low-light so it doesn't disturb your sleep, there's 2 alarms, and we like how the buzzer starts out soft so you aren't startled awake.
ramping up of volume of buzzer is great, and provides a nice gradual awakening.
this alarm clock is the best i have had in my life.i was using an older alarm clock and the buzzer would never wake me up...i would always oversleep by at least an hour.
you may also individually choose for each alarm to wake up to the radio, cd, or buzzer.
this alarm allows you to set the track, wake to the radio, or to a buzzer.
i do like the ease of switching between the two alarm settings, as well as choosing radio/cd/buzzer and setting the time for each is simple as well.
my favorite is that it doesn't have that loud, grating buzzer every other alarm clock uses.
i like the idea that you can fall asleep to the radio, have the alarm set on "buzzer", which is actually a gentle beep that gets louder and louder and more insistent till you turn it off.
the radio works very nice, the sound quality obviously is according to an alarm clock, but it works when you don't want to listen to the buzzer.
yet, all of the time my husband had to do was just wave his hand or arm by the clock it would stop the buzzer from going for just a bit more time.
wish the buzzer was a bit louder but, i can deal with it.
on our clocks, you can have a buzzer alarm or the radio alarm.
now i will admit the buzzer alarm is not very loud but nothing wakes me up easily so i just use the radio.
the clock also includes a second piezo buzzer so if a/c power is lost, no only will it not loose the time and settings, the alarms will still sound.
* it has two alarms, either or both of which can be radio or buzzer.
the only problem i have run into is trying to decide if i want to wakeup to the sound of the radio or the buzzer.
you choose!), a quick nap mode, flick of the switch daylight savings mode and your choice of radio or buzzer for both alarms (they can be different if you want).
i find the snooze easy to use, and like having the ability to set two alarms and to choose between radio and a buzzer on each.
it is reliable, you have a choice of how you want the alarm to work - radio, buzzer, or cd, and even which song on the cd you want to wake you up.
add to that nice big numbers, dual alarms, wake to cd/buzzer/radio (by the way, it's so much nice to wake to a cd than a loud buzz), and very intuitive controls.
and the volume control is for both the cd, radio, and buzzer.
dual alatm any way you want radio, cd, buzzer,
i really like the dual alarms and having the alarm options of buzzer, radio, or cd.
- grad-u-wake feature: the only buzzer i've experienced that isn't jarring/ugly
it is easy to set the alarm on the sony and it provides a step-wise procedure that asks you to select radio or buzzer, radio volume and time of day.
from the cd wake to the buzzer, pleasant wake up moments and less urgency to turn it off.
i can fall asleep to a cd, and wake to the "buzzer," which isn't really a buzzer at all -- more like a "chirp" that gradually gets louder, another nice feature.
the buzzer for the alarm is a bit weak, but i wanted to wake up to my cds, so this isn't really a problem for me.
the important point here is that like most clock radios, you can choose to be woken by a buzzer (it has a nice buzzer, by the way) or by the radio.
as it stands, i currently have alarm 1 set for m-f using the buzzer and alarm 2 for saturday using the radio (sunday is a sleep-in day).
after all, your average alarm clock doesn't allow you to set the alarm time *and* day of the week (all seven days, in any combination) *and* "buzzer/music" *and* desired radio station.
(use good speakers like creative etc) what i like about this clock radio the most is the alarm buzzer has a volume control at the bottom of the unit.
- each alarm can be set to use radio, radio/beeper (not a buzzer), or just beeper.
to turn off the buzzer alarm, press "buzzer" (reviewer "jonathon shakes" said it took several minutes with the instruction manual to figure this out??!!) i mainly wanted to refute these claims as
it has good sound quality and three types of alarm: radio, buzzer, and nature sounds (there are 3 or 4 of these to choose from).
you can set a radio for the week and a buzzer or nature sound for the weekend, but if you enjoy waking to the soothing sounds of wxfm you'll have to wake up the same time every day.
the feature that i like the most is the 7-5-2 alarm system that lets me wake up to a buzzer during the workweek (the 5) and to the radio on weekends (the 2) without having to change any settings
there are two things i'd like to change - the fact that after i hit snooze on the radio and then snooze on the buzzer, only the buzzer comes back in 10 minute increments.
the radio sounds good for a alarm clock and the buzzer starts low and gets louder as it goes on making waking a little nicer that with a standard clock that just blasts you to death.
so many clocks these days have only one radio and one buzzer.
the buzzer alarm sounds thru the radio only and not thru the earpiece.
my favorite features are the nap timer (set to alarm in 10 minute intervals up to 2 hours) and the "graduating" alarm buzzer, which increasing in volume - rather than scare the blank out of you at 5
the main reason i was shopping for a new alarm clock was that my sony, when set to radio wake up, would also sound the buzzer along with the radio, rather jarring first thing in the am.
i like several things about this product: the alarm buzzer escalates from low to high so as not to startle you out of your sleep; the motion sensor which allows you snooze at the wave of your hand;
the "nap" feature is great too, but it's too bad that's only connected to the buzzer alarm.
i have to have a gradual ramp up buzzer alarm.
the alarm (ipod, radio or buzzer) immediately shuts off and goes into snooze mode the minute it detects anything within 24 inches of it.
so i still use the alarm but just as a buzzer.
overall though it is a great tool if you want something other then a buzzer or radio to wake up too.
i really liked that i could wake up to my choice of sounds radio or buzzer.
the alarm feature allows us to choose radio or nature sound or buzzer - a great addition if you, like us, enjoy hearing nature sounds all night, this allows you to wake up to a totally different sound
we used the 'buzzer' setting for the alarm and it woke us with no difficulties.
the buzzer's volume is adjustable.
it would be nice if it had the human waking system (hws) for radio, too, not just buzzer mode, but not a big deal.
the radio function is very clear and and buzzer alarm is not overbearing as some.
adjustable alarm buzzer sound level
now the problem is the alarm functions - they worked fine on the first unit in both buzzer and radio mode but don't work at all on this one.
manual is almost useless, and the wake to radio will not work on the am side unless you have a real good signal, i had to return it because i set it to wake to radio and it would just go to
also, if you want-you can set the alarm to where a cd plays, or the radio, or the buzzer, or any combination of those items when you get up in the morning.
the cd is good, the radio also, and the buzzer.
you can set up to 3 different times for the alarms to go off 1 utilizing the radio, 1 the cd player and 1 the buzzer.
setting the alarm and choice of cd/radio or buzzer is so much easier than on others i've owned in the past.
i love the buzzer (the only alarm function i use).
has two separate alarm settings which you can set for weekdays only, weekends only, and weekdays and weekends also w/buzzer,or radio which each of the two alarms can be set to individual preference.
the buzzer alarm is really nice in that it starts out with slow, low volume beeps and then ramps up in speed and intensity.
+ crescendo alarm: alarm buzzer starts out soft, but gradually gets louder and louder until you wake up
the buzzer is not loud.
it has a large easy to read from across the room display (but can be dimmed or shut off and then on again w/a wave of the hand), has two separate alarm settings which you can set for weekdays only,
