the icf-cdk70 is bulkier, it does not have a battery backup, it still has the fm antenna in the power cord, it uses the same speakers, and it doesn't have the handy preset buttons for radio stations.

but, i do wish that it was able to read mp3 cd's, but, it's not a huge deal since you can plug any mp3 player in with ease and be listening as quickly as you can push the "audio input" button.

five presets buttons (actually 10 fm and 5 am) make it really easy to switch around.

it has the mp3 adapter that the first one did not and the buttons for volume and tuning are better than the its predecessor.

after only 2 1/2 years, the ge model would only play cds in shuffle mode, radio reception had deteriorated, and the "bubble" buttons were wearing out.
