the bright light takes a bit to get used to especially if used as a bedroom alarm clock but don't let it discourage you from purchase!
one big complaint, though: the light on the clock is so bright that it has to be covered for sleeping, which defeats the purpose of a bed-side clock radio.
under normal circumstances i simply turn the radio slightly away from the bed and sleep has not been affected.
pros: outstanding sound quality for speaker size, digital tuning, two alarms, quality construction cons: display much too bright for bedside and not adjustable the bottom line: a well-made

also nature sounds, an option, a bit distracting (who want's a frog in their bedroom?)
pros: sounds great, small size for bedside table
don't buy this unless you want a night light in your bedroom.
if i go to bed after my wife and i need to set the alarm, the beeping invariably wakes her up.
you can adjust the lighting to one of three intensity levels but with the lowest, even in the dark my entire bedroom is lit up.
i bought 2 of these from amazon at the same time, one for each side of our king bed.
* large numbers readable from the other side of the bed without lighting up the room.
- soft green doesn't illuminate the whole bedroom
i have 2 in my bedroom and they don't read the same.
when you're in bed and the lights are off and your eyes adjust to the dark, a green led display will light up the room.
our bedroom is now lit up as if we left the tv set and christmas tree lights on and yet we can't read the numerals without approaching the clock to within a few inches.
if you like a dark bedroom, this may give you pause.
rather than using acoustic tubing wrapped around the inside of the case, cambridge soundworks has actually mounted a *real* subwoofer inside of this radio.
if you are looking for a easy, out of the box way to add awesome sound to office, kitchen, bedroom - this is the radio to end all radios.
got it for an alarm clock and to just listen to while working in the bedroom at home.
worse is the situation where the alarm goes off, you hit the snooze button, and then get up and take a shower.
i would have been better off to set 2 separate clocks at my bedside!
of course you're going to hit another button if you just reach over the bed, eyes half shut, and slap the thing.
no, it's not like having the actual sun light up the bedroom (like, duh), but its light gently brightens until the radio starts (mine is set for a 30-minute gradual "sunrise." then it shuts off
i haven't noticed the brightness of the display - i think i read in the manual that you can dim it, so i did, and i just turn it away from my bed at bedtime.
personally i just let the sun "rise" - my room is fully lit, and i take a shower and get dressed and it all turns off by itself!
i'm really sensitive to light in my bedroom when i'm trying to sleep.
i kept another clock on my bedside table so i'd be sure to know the correct time and put a post-it (tm) over the clock numbers.
it doesn't appear too bright as i have heard complained of other blue displays--at least not too bright for me but then i admit i am not using this clock in my bedroom.
i purchased the unit for the bedroom to be able to see the time without glasses.
it does do a wonderful job of lighting up the entire bathroom at night, though.
i rated this 2/5 for one simple reason: the led display is so bright that i literally have a blue glow in my bedroom, and that's when i have the dimmer turned to the lower setting.
i intended to put this clock on a bathroom shelf but i couldn't read the display that high up.
to date, hubby, master of all bathroom radios, uses only one fm station and occasionally one am station.
this makes it a real pain to micro-adjust the volume to get a low enough volume for earphone listening at bedtime, which is basically the only time i use this radio.
i ended up buying the boston acoustic receptor that was more and i can live with out the cd ability, but imo it was worth the extra $$ pros: name brand cons: difficult to set, poor cd quality, too
even on the low setting, it illuminates the entire bedroom in a blue glow.
if you want your songs to fade in and wake you up without jolting you out of bed in the morning, you might want to consider another radio.
disc-read noise was quieter than what i bought to replace it, for those who can hear that kind of frequency.cons: beware of buying this for a bedside clock - the lcd screen is set such that the
i have to keep the instructions right by my bedside and refer to them every season that the time changes, and even then, it takes a few tries to get it right.
whether or not i want to get out of a nice warm bed is immaterial; when i need to wake up, i need to wake up!!
the second clock radio, the cd had a loud hum that can be heard across the hallway in another bedroom, over the hum of a ceiling fan.
i used it in my baby's bedroom at night to play her bedtime music and after about a month the cd player quit working completely.
i bought this cd player for my baby's bedroom so i can play a white noise cd repeatedly.
i bought this for my baby's room for the clock and to play his bedtime music in the cd player.
audiovox claims some sort of "weekend alarm" and the description here indicates that this is the sort of clock alarm which you can set to go off only on the weekdays, thus saving you long suffering
look at the unit in the store, imagine you're in bed in dim light and try to switch between cd and radio modes.
very handy by the bed, and the price was just right.
this clock was way to bright to actually have in a bedroom.
