i set the radio first to "gently" wake me up, then the buzzer signal me to get out of bed.
needed a clock in my bedroom that was easy to see in the dark.
i was looking for a dual alarm clock with larger display that did not light up the whole bedroom at night.
so if you have trouble getting up and want to actually have to get out of bed to hit the snooze or turn off, you can still easily see the display.whether you've owned a clock radio before or not,
teriffic radio for a bedroom nightstand.
the instructions are admittedly a bit wordy as they try to explain all the features and warnings to not use the clock in the bathtub.
the blue light from the clock was bright enough to light the entire bedroom...for those troubled sleepers.
and the big blue numbers are so bright it lights up my bedroom with a blue glow!
like many people, i threw the instruction manual on the bed and went straight to hooking it up.
i ended up moving to the guest bedroom.
i bought 2 of these from amazon at the same time, one for each side of our king bed.
* large numbers readable from the other side of the bed without lighting up the room.
- soft green doesn't illuminate the whole bedroom
i have 2 in my bedroom and they don't read the same.
when you're in bed and the lights are off and your eyes adjust to the dark, a green led display will light up the room.
worse is the situation where the alarm goes off, you hit the snooze button, and then get up and take a shower.
i would have been better off to set 2 separate clocks at my bedside!
of course you're going to hit another button if you just reach over the bed, eyes half shut, and slap the thing.
no, it's not like having the actual sun light up the bedroom (like, duh), but its light gently brightens until the radio starts (mine is set for a 30-minute gradual "sunrise." then it shuts off
i haven't noticed the brightness of the display - i think i read in the manual that you can dim it, so i did, and i just turn it away from my bed at bedtime.
personally i just let the sun "rise" - my room is fully lit, and i take a shower and get dressed and it all turns off by itself!
i'm really sensitive to light in my bedroom when i'm trying to sleep.
i kept another clock on my bedside table so i'd be sure to know the correct time and put a post-it (tm) over the clock numbers.
