i was looking for something stylish and compact for a bedroom radio.
if you plan to see it from bed, you will need to face it directly toward your bed.
i am using it in a small one bedroom apt in the living room, so i have to weight my listening level with the privacy of other tenants the 3" speaker does this very nicely set around 35 to 38
lastly, the lcd backlight is very bright and even at the lowest setting, is still fairly bright at night for a clock radio.
it is also easy to use, but i agree with some that the manual should be kept handy - the alarm setting is not intuitively obvious and requires some button-holding to activate the needed function.
i really do like this product and recommend it as a kitchen radio.
this product was beyond my expectations; it is very good quality and amazingly clear; no static or distortion.
it is in my kitchen and we have lots of radio stations to pick from but i don't get real clear reception.
it is easy to use, from the radio presetting, to the cd features, to the remote control.
not only is this sony cd/clock radio digital, it also has great reception.
best reception radio.
however, its shape also causes it to easily tip over, making it inadequate for a bedside radio.
water resistant design means it can live in the bathroom or kitchen comfortably.
so i went with the stylish tivoli songbook to use as a kitchen radio.
i use it by my bed, then carry it into the shower in the morning, then take it with me while i make and eat my breakfast.
easy to use, clear wake-up buzzer, excellent radio reception.
the base sets nicely on the bed table and doesn't slip around like the old model.
easy to use.
it took me a while to find just the right clock radio for my bedroom.
the clock display is bright enough to read, but it isn't so bright that it affects my ability to fall asleep (i keep it right next to my bed).
since it's also an alarm clock, you can keep it by your bedside for dangers in the middle of the night.
strengths: has great features and new alerts that my previous radio did not have weaknesses: some what complicated set up.
the radio is easy to use and works well, but i'll trade tornados for earthquakes and fires anytime.
the backlit lcd is very large and displays text for the type of alert that you're experiencing, which i found to be novel.
read on other reviews that backlight is too bright, button press tone too loud, and manual "poorly translated from chinese".
the radio itself is just the perfect size (using it in the kitchen).
it's such a great radio and so attractive in appearance, performance, and cost that i have one in the kitchen, one in the garage and one in my office.
the power cord protrudes from the back of the radio about 1 1/2 inches making it impossible to place it against the wall behind my kitchen counter.
this radio is perfect for large, common areas in a home, such as the kitchen or living room.
i purchased this radio because of the review that stated "fm reception is good with either the built in or external antenna." we have terrible fm reception in our neighborhood.
the time is easier to read, it throws a large, red segmented time display slightly below eye level when the clock is, for instance, on a table by your bed and you're on your back looking upward.
this product was exactly as described, easy to use for a child an i love the fact that you can turn the alarm off in the morning and it is still set for the following day.
it works fantastic...no more searching for the clock on the other side of the bed.
my parents' clock is on my dad's side of the bed, so she has to ask him when ever she wants to know what time it is.
you can be half blind and still see it and you don't have to raise up out of the bed to try to see the clock on the nightstand.
i didn't buy it for sound quality, i purchased this product to get me out of bed everyday without checking and seting the time everynight.
however, my alarm clock is set on a shelf above my bed, and i have to get on my knees and view it squarely in order to see the numbers at all.
it looks nice, especially the screen backlight.
large clock display with adjustable brightness backlight that's easy to see without glasses, even for a very near-sighted guy like me.
this is a really nice, easy to use, inexpensive clock radio.
i was amazed that this product has so many features in this small compact system.i enjoy that i can play all my music at my bed side, also like the light feature where i can brighten and dim the
easy to use right out of the box.
easy to use and set up.
3) the reception of the radio isn't excellent -- it fades in and out sometimes, but its better than other clock radios that i've had
this pretty much had everything i need for my bedroom in terms of a radio and alarm clock.
it is the only alarm clock i found where i can adjust the brightness three ways giving me the perfect amount especially at night.
brightness can be controled so that this clock never wakes you up unless it is supposed to.
primary use as a clock, since radio reception isn't terrific, but for the price it is still a good value.
i've got the radio on my favorite station, and the reception is good - i haven't had to change it or adjust.
i bought a more expensive sony multi-alarm clock a few months ago and it works ok, but this clock is by far a better and less complicated unit.
[...] product was easy to install under kitchen cabinet and looks nice.
this product would be virtully perfect if the am reception and sound quality were up to that of the competition.
it looks great in my stainles steel kitchen.
issues with sony (esp with the virus like software on their cds) but this radio sounds fine, gets in all the stations i want (i live in a basement), and fits great underneath my kitchen cabinet.
i use it in my kitchen everyday.
the rs-330 is a great product that is easy to use and is unlike any other product out there.
beautiful design (its the proton rs330!) cons: native antenna reception problematic and no cd.
it was reluctantly banished from the bedroom and we were back to our old clock.
it is similar in shape to my old radio and the controls are similar, but the radio reception is much better (even without the external antenna attached) and it has radio preset buttons now which is a
in terms of reception, it appears that the radio is really designed to require the use of external antennas for good reception ...
this radio is pretty cute and looks very nice in my daughter's bedroom.
it always shoots me out of bed!
it's very cute and mucho easy to use.
I LOVE THIS CLOCK RADIO!
If its so great, why only 3 stars?
what's great about it:?access 11,000 stations in over 150 countries from your bedroom free forever what's not so great:?wish it could record "this product has changed my life.
we took it out of the box, turn it on and was able to connect it to our router just with the push of a few buttoms on the remote.music came out clear and crisp, the interface is very user friendly.
i would recommend this product except as a bedroom clock radio (unless you like a 100w nightlight!)
wlks's hd #2 is on here but not the main feed 96.1fm i can't get it from my house on terrestrial [fm} radio because the signal is to weak.
i had a sirius radio and it was great in the car but lousy reception retention indoors this aluratek works great with no monthly fee!!!
it includes an adjustable backlight, an aux jack for your mp3 players, and 2 awesome settings: nap, which lets you set a quick nap time - up to about 90 minutes i believe - without having to change
this clock radio is very simple to set up, buttons and controls are designed for ease of use.
good radio signal pickup.
radio reception for me is great, and the clock includes a mini display to the right that shows the preset alarm time when the alarm is turned on.
the radio is adequate and antenna reception has been fine (both am/fm).
last tip: as the radio is basically single-speaker, i push it up against a wall in the kitchen to further amplify the output.
the remote control is my favorite feature even though i listen to it when i go to bed i don't have to reach over to the nightstand i just use the remote.
if i were purchase another radio for my desk, beside my bed or on a table in the lounge room, i would buy another one of these for sure.
- the remote is simple to use
- easy to use menus
the radio works fine, but as usual with this type of product, the sound isn't all that great, and reception could probably be better.
it has a radio with great audio quality, a one button nap feature, dual alarm, programmable snooze and beautiful fully adjustable display.this alarm clock is very easy to use although at first i did
this is the easiest alarm clock i have ever used and it has more features than some yet it is small and doesn't take up much space
the radio has great reception & it's mp3 compatible, although we haven't used that feature.
the only drawback is it does not get good reception some buildings.
but my cat and bed sheets also do it and it is pretty senstive so the clock display sometimes comes on unrequested.
no more brightly lit bedroom, just wave your hand in front of the display and it comes on to tell you what time it is.
*the beeping alarm ramps up in volume, so if you turn it off early on, it won't wake up your bed partner.
so i am thrilled to now be able to listen to the radio while reading in bed.
very easy set up and nice sound for a bedside radio.
i was dissatisfied with my previous ipod clock radio, because the (blue backlit) display was too bright and difficult to see except from directly in front of it.
2)wanted to see the alarm clock from my my side of the bed (can't wear glasses to sleep)
i wear contacts, but i keep the clock radio right beside my bed, so there isn't an issue there.
it's being relegated to radio duty in my kitchen.
Now I'm shopping for another ipod alarm clock and hopefully the next one won't be a waste of $40+.
i live in a rural area with hard to get radio signals and i'm still able to pick up several.
the projection works great, like the feature of back up battery and brightness of time display.
i didn't want to spend a fortune because i wasn't sure if i would even like the projection plus i didnt want the brightness to be an issue, i need the room darker to sleep comfortably...
the only complaints are ease of use ( lots of settings ) and the projected time on the ceiling is smaller than i would like.
the little radio get's great reception, when most radio's in my house don't.
