This RCA clock-radio is easy to use and has just the right features: 2 alarm settings, dimmable display, good radio reception, and reliability. I am going to buy a second one for my son.
The RCA RP5400 is without a doubt the greatest alarm clock I have ever had. Where other alarms typically bolt you and your partner (who may not want to get up) out of bed with a nasty blast, this one slowly builds in intensity.
:) At the time of purchase, it was ten dollars from amazon, so I wasn't breaking the bank for a clock I'd rarely use. I've had this alarm clock over 6 months, it's kept the time right on, and I'm quite pleased with it. Should one of the two alarm clocks in our bedroom ever fail, I won't hesitate to confiscate this RCA Smart Snooze from the guest bedroom, and give it a permanent home on our own bedside table.
I also find these clocks rather attractive. Great price! Looks like a product of the old RCA, which dominated in America.
You can push every button and nothing happens, even unplugging it does nothing. I have never heard of a clock freezing up before. But after a little research, it seems a lot of different models of RCA alarm clocks are freezing up like this. This will be the last RCA product I will ever purchase, as I had problems with their other products too.
the display would be better if it automatically adjusted to the brightness level in the room but this is a feature you'd probably have to buy a more expensive clock radio to have.
simple buttons, nothing too fancy or complicated, but with a sleek overall look to it, so my mother-in-law wouldn't think i put a junk alarm clock in their room to use.
while the sound coming out of it obviously will not blow you away, the reception is quite good, and what do you want for a clock radio with such an appealingly small footprint?
if you don't hear the alarm right away, it automatically gets louder until you get your lazy arse out of bed.
i don't listen to the radio in bed, so that isn't a factor for me.
