The clock does everything an atomic clock should do except that it refuses to change time zones. Five request to Seiko customer service has failed to get a response...some customer service. If I could return it, I would but it was beyond the warrenty period when I first traveled to a different time zone only to find it malfunctioning. from Amazon.com I like the large display. The temp/date/weekday display is also nice. It cost a little more than other travel alarm clocks, but it is a Seiko after all. I use it as my home alarm clock as well; that way I don't have to worry about the power blinking off at night and causing me to oversleep (it runs on two triple A batteries). from Amazon.com I wanted the numbers readable. The day and date is helpful. The Seiko R-Wave met all my requirements. It is a little heavier than I expected but then it's built studier then most travel alarms. from Amazon.com When we arrived home it didn't even set to the local time here. And it's difficult to set the time manually. So we were very disappointed in Seiko a brand we thought we could depend on. This clock was replacement for an old Seiko travel alarm no longer on the market which I'd used to help set all other clocks in our house.
