these clamps are perhaps the most classic clamp for the woodshop. from Amazon.com clean this off before attaching the clamps so you won't mess up your wood.- i strongly recommend getting a set of rubber clamp pads when you order your clamp fixtures. from Amazon.com using black pipe can stain wood that rests on the pipe. from Amazon.com if you work with wood, you need a few sets of these. from Amazon.com i do use wood strips to pad the jaws, otherwise they can damage wood under pressure. from Amazon.com but they are extremely heavy when fitted with black pipe (which has a tendency to stain wood) and the clamps have an annoying habit of turning at the most inconvenient moment. from Amazon.com i clean the pipe of residue with turpenol (any solvent/degreaser would probably do), and i do not have the issue of making marks on the wood surfaces. from Amazon.com these things are great but i would suggest either making a pad or purchasing the pads tor the insides of your clamps to protect you wood as they will mar up sides of glued lumber with enough pressure. from Amazon.com these clamps appeal to many woodworkers, and they certainly have their place in any woodshop. from Amazon.com the 3/4" pipe clamps are a "must have" item for any serious woodworker. from Amazon.com
