Pros: I bought this drive realizing that Lite-On always had the best reviews on NewEgg. Upon arrival, I built a comp and immediately burned a linux iso I had on another HDD. from Newegg.com Pros: just as cheap as all the other drives in it's class and even burns the cheapo memorex discs without making coasters at 8x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817501023 Cons: none so far Other Thoughts: if you have this drive it's worth saving the money and buying the cheapo discs! from Newegg.com Pros: I bought a new Burner the LITE-ON Black 22X http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106288It burns without any coasters, even these CHEAPO discs Cons: stinks I had to buy a new drive Other Thoughts: so if you have a liteon driver you should feel comfortable buying these cheapo discs to save money because it works from Newegg.com I have used the LightScribe and it looks cool. I received the drive with Nero 7 that had the LightScribe built in. I bought a SATA cable for it because I didn't have an extra one laying around. I had a small problem with the drive but Lite-ON tech support fixed the issue Quickly. from Newegg.com Pros: The drive is fast & quiet. The SATA interface is a huge plus. Cons: The drive recognizes Verbatim 8x DVD+R DL lightscribe discs as CD's!!!! from Newegg.com VERY noisy. New computer had trouble accessing DVD drive. Once CD was in tray and closed, couldn't reopen tray. Total junk in my humble opinion. from Newegg.com Pros: Out of the box compatibility. SATA Connection. Cons: -Didn't come with a SATA cable (wasn't expecting it anyways...)-Not much of a con, but it didn't come with the Nero Essentials disc Other Thoughts: Don't really know why mine didn't come with Nero Essentials, but it doesn't bother me. from Newegg.com Pros: Great drive for the money you just can't beat it fast and Quiet Cons: The Nero essentials 7 is poor Other Thoughts: I have been using Lite On for about 4 years, these are great drives i bought this in OEM and just bought a full version software from Newegg.com If I copy a file it works, however when trying to play a video file such as . MKV it grinds and grinds and grinds. Must be something to do with the Smart X and variable speed. Other Thoughts: I really like LiteOn drives especially compared to Samsung or LG since they are much quieter. from Newegg.com
