usually "ya get what ya pay for" but in this case ya get that and a whole lot more! from Buy.com it can be used as a handheld unit but can quickly be connected to your vehicle cb antenna for better reception and work off the vehicle battery. from Amazon.com great cb, compact design lets you put it anywhere, yet has all features one needs. from Amazon.com the fact that this radio can be a handheld or a mobile radio and that it comes with a 12-volt cigarette lighter plug, a pl-259 external antenna connector, a portable antenna, a battery box for using from Amazon.com while this unit does offer many features there is one in particular that it is missing. from Amazon.com voice and audio transmission are amazing clear even on the "rubber ducky" antenna at road speed. from Buy.com fine cb unit for hand or sattionary use,or mobile up to you.i tried lots of them from cobra,from radioshack etc.no one like this .only thing u have to know is if you are using this product like from Target.com i bought the midland 75-820 mini cb radio/weather transceiver and added the midland 22-540 headset boom microphone to the order. from Buy.com be aware that the transmit range is very short using the antenna provided. from Amazon.com the car is 6 volt, so rather than use a voltage convertor, i bought a 12 volt compact rechargable battery pack and an exterior antenna, and together they work great. from Amazon.com
