the original maxi was great. baby came through fine in the accident. when offered the opportunity to buy another car seat we chose the maxi cosi -- again. great product !!!! from Amazon.com Horrible product by all account. It only looks good. And BTW - the one I got was manufactured after Feb 18, 2008 and it still has the same issue. Silly me. from Amazon.com They are forever slipping apart, making it a challenge to buckle in a squirming kid. Also it has a tendency to catch the babies' clothing, and when this happens it won't snap. So, you have to pull the two (slippery) pieces together, push the babies' clothes out of the way, AND hold on to the buckle... all at the same time. from Amazon.com I haven't used or installed the seat yet, but the one thing I can say is that it looks amazing. This is in my opinion the coolest looking car seat out there...so if you don't want your car to look like a nursery, go for it. from Amazon.com
