the original maxi was great. baby came through fine in the accident. when offered the opportunity to buy another car seat we chose the maxi cosi -- again. great product !!!! from Amazon.com Horrible product by all account. It only looks good. And BTW - the one I got was manufactured after Feb 18, 2008 and it still has the same issue.
