Overall, the Britax Companion Infant Car Seat earns high marks for its safety-minded features and ease of use. from ConsumerGuideProducts.com But it doesn't matter. If I had to do it all over again? I'd get another Britax. from Babyage.com When I first heard of the rating CR gave the Britax Companion I was shocked and upset. My husband and I payed a lot for this carseat to ensure the safety of our baby girl. from Target.com We bought this carseat because of Britax's reputation for safe seats and because of Consumer Reports' review. My daughter hated it from day one! from Target.com If there is something wrong with the Consumer Reports tests, then the car seat manufacturers should point this out. Instead, most of the manufacturers of seats that performed poorly in the Consumer Reports tests haven't even addressed the study at all. At least Britax did address it, although in a somewhat shady way--they pulled a quote out of context which said that Britax had been the "highest rated" in earlier tests, without mentioning the newer, less favorable results. I had just bought another (expensive) Britax car seat for my baby who has almost outgrown his infant seat, and am thinking of returning it. from Target.com you just cant beat the quality that goes into britax seats. This is an awesome seat no matter what consumer reports concludes. from Target.com Please do not put all Credence in the recent CR panic tactics. I purchased this seat, and all of my other Britax and Snugride seats of years gone by, based on CR reports as well... and now suddenly they are not good enough? from Target.com They sent us a new car seat the next week. The seat is heavy so you get a good work out carrying the seat. We will only buy Britax car seats! from Target.com also, she didn't like riding backwards, but who does. i know it's safer... we've now switched to the bigger britax model which can also be used with infants, but doesn't really protect infants as well as the companion. so, be a sport and buy your kid the safest infant car seat on the market. from Amazon.com This is my fourth infant car seat and by far is my favorite. I have used Graco Snugride, Graco SafeSeat, and Eddie Bauer Cosco. The blue fabric is much softer than the other colors. I live in South Gerogia and the baby has not over heated yet. from Amazon.com
