After having 3 children already and going thru the whole carseat thing before, I was absolutely impressed by the Safeguard seat. I have never seen such quality put into a seat. from Elitecarseats.com Thankfully I bought return insurance, so I'm hoping it will all go smoothly. I'm looking at the Radian XT as an alternative. Even this narrow seat has 1.4" more interior width than the SafeGuard. I gave it 3 stars because there are some good features, and if you've got a tall skinny kid, this could be a good choice. from Elitecarseats.com I researched car seats for several months before settling on this one. The Britax Regent was initially my first choice - until I actually saw one and tried it out in my car. Even in the heat at the end of July, I'm not fearful of putting my daughter in it because it never gets "too hot". I do have the red cover, so that may be a contributing factor. Love it! from Elitecarseats.com I purchased this model because my 4-yr old son is tall and thin, 44" and 42# so I like that this max harness height is 57". However, I wish the weight limit was higher than 65#. The Britax Frontier has a higher max harness weight up to 80 lbs, then up to 100 lbs as a booster, but on the downside the Frontier max harness height is only 53" (4" shorter than SafeGuard).
