We searched far and wide for an additional booster , after finding out the Britax Monarch had been retired. We own 1 Britax Monarch and 2 Britax Boulevard. I have to say the Monterey is a better fit for my 6 year old daughter her shoulders fit inside the shoulder wings as opposed to on the wings in the Britax. The quality of the plastic seems a notch better and the hip protection better as well. from Elitecarseats.com It is soo sturdy and I love that in a booster. The seatbelt hugs him perfectly and I know he is safe since he can also sit correctly. I also LOVE how Sunshine Kids STRESSES in the manual that a child is safer in a 5-point harness until 4 yrs and 40lbs or longer. I also like that the lower part of the seat locks in to the car with the lower anchors and that the top part is easily adjustable. This is the second booster seat I've bought from Sunshine Kids - my older daughter had one and my younger child moved from a Radian Kids Car Seat to the Booster seat. I don't know if it is any safer when the kids are buckled in, but it is definitely safer when the seats are empty.
