Best Camera Lenses for Kit Lens

i feel sorry for the guy-broke a 'kit' lens but he is reporting and complaining about the wrong lens (i suspect he broke the $199 18-55 kit lens which has the plastic lens mount --part of why it only

it fits in my smallest lowepro shoulder bag that i bought for my d40 and its kit lens.

they do seem much superior to pictures i took with my previous lens, the 18-55mm kit lens.

you might be looking at this review, having a 18-55 kit lens, or a 18-200.

it really compliments the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my xsi.

being the first lens i've bought that is not my kit lens, (d60, with 18-55vr lens) i came into it not expecting anything really, although i've been reading the great reviews for weeks.

for starters, this lens would fall in the same category as the 14-54mm lens which was the kit lens for the e-1, i used this to replace my 14-54mm lens on the e-510.

note though, that if you're used to the kit lens, this item's weight and size will be noticeably greater than what you've been using.

i would recommend this lens over the kit lens any day of the week.

at 21.2 ounces compared to 10.9 ounces for the 14-45 kit lens, the extra weight does tend to unbalance the camera.

for me wide angle was important and the 17-70 range of the kit lens was the minimum acceptable.

cheap kit lenses do not have this feature.
