What People Say
don't expect perfection from anything at this price range, but dollar for dollar, it's an ideal lens for general shooting.

I use the lens for taking action pictures of my kids soccer and baseball games. It really gets you close to the action. With my Cannon it works nicely.

this has become my favorite zoom lens, i use at least three out of the bag.
from Adorama.com
this lens has been everything that i wanted to extend the range of the standard lens on the canon digital xt.

My only negative, this is a macro lens, there is nothing in the instructions on how to set up for macro, trying to auto focus on anything close doesn't work. [...]

"...completely new formulation: a low-dispersion glass element to control color fringing, and the Tamron hybrid lens-mount of high-impact plastic molded around a core of stainless steel."

a bit at the 200mm range.

also, you get better lens performance compared to a lens that "tries to do it all" by going from super wide to long telephoto.

I like this lens and it is a very good lens for the price, light weight and precise. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

i am just a debutant photo amateur but i was looking for a not pricy telephoto zoom mainly for portraits and bumped into this option.
